To all Endourology Society members,
As this year comes to a close, I would ask each of you to once more consider the legacy of the late Dr. Joe Segura, one of
the original four founders of our society. A true visionary, Dr. Segura's exceptional leadership in the field of
Endourology left a lasting mark on the specialty and on all who knew him.
More than four years in the making, the Joseph Segura Scholarship in Endourology and Stone Management is finally funded
to the minimum level &emdash;a total of $752,486 (including $7,584 in pledges)&emdash; and is ready to support this important award in
perpetuity, as we had envisioned - a tribute to the memory of an incredible friend and colleague.
However, the fund needs to reach $1,000,000 to provide the stability for an annual scholarship award - and today I ask
you to once more consider making a gift before the end of the year of $500, $1,000 or more to complete this fund goal.
Your gift is fully tax-deductible, and will support research scholars specifically in the field of urolithiasis,
administered through the American Urological Association Foundation's joint committee with members of the Endourology Society.
We are ready to announce a Segura Scholar in 2012 - but we still need your help. There couldn't be a more fitting way
for us to memorialize the legacy of Dr. Segura. For all of us, for tomorrow's leaders - please join me today in supporting
the future of Endourological Research in urolithiasis.
To make an online donation, go to UrologyHealth.org/donate, or mail your check to the AUA Foundation at 1000 Corporate Blvd.,
Linthicum, MD 21090. You can also donate by calling (410) 689-3990. My thanks in advance for your generous gift and your
ongoing support of Endourology.
Sincerely,

Ralph V. Clayman, M.D.
