Description of Program
The UTSW Minimally Invasive Urology Fellowship is a one-year program.
The approximate time allotment is 80% clinical and 20% research. Clinical
training encompases all aspects of endourology, laparoscopy, and SWL,
and clinical responsibilities include both patient care and clinical research.
Laboratory research efforts focus primarily on minimally invasive surgery
and endourology. Additionally, we offer the opportunity to design and
activitely participate in metabolic stone studies through the Mineral
and Metabolism Center and General Clinical Research Center, in conjunction
with Charles Pak, M.D.

Bench space and animal lab facilities
This includes approximately 160 linear feet of bench space, 200 sq. feet
of office space, and a 600 sq. ft. animal surgery suite. The state of
the art animal laboratory is funded through the Southwestern Center for
Minimally Invasive Surgery.
Availability of Ph.D. to supervise research
Yes, two Ph.D.'s in the Urology Department are available to assist with
projects. The resources of the Mineral and Metabolism and General Clinical
Research Centers are also available. In addition, a full-time endourology
laboratory technician is employed to facilitate the resident and fellow
research.
On campus housing

Fellows do not take night calls.
