Industry Award for Innovations in Endourological Instrumentation Winner

Dave Ahonen
Associate Director, Stone Market Development, Boston Scientific

As a passionate leader in Endourology for more than 25 years, Dave Ahonen has worked tirelessly to improve patients’ lives through supporting physician-driven, life-changing innovation, research, and education. Since joining Boston Scientific in 1995, he’s held leadership positions in the U.S. and Europe in Sales, Sales Training, Medical Education, Marketing, and Market Development. Currently, Dave leads the Stone Management Market Development team. In this role, he collaborates with global thought leaders to validate unmet endourologic clinical needs and support development of technology that can address those needs.

For more than two decades, Dave has partnered with the Endourological Society on important initiatives, including supporting formation of the TOWER research group, physician education through hands-on courses and symposiums, and much more. He met his wife in college, and has known her for 40 years. He’s also a father to three sons. As a family, they enjoy traveling the globe to experience different regional cultures and explore the sites the world has to offer.
